After three hours of working constantly in the darkroom nonstop I have finally produced my projects photographs - I was only able to produce 4 photographic images because of the long exposure times of my work, they had concluded with 4 minutes between each image as well as test strips, due to the way my photographs were darkened on the film itself I had to up the gradient as well as the exposure time to get the right setting for my images to come through onto the photographic paper however they had left the photographs grainy even though I wasn't that satisfied with my photographs outcome initially it was the best I could do within the short time I had left - they had become grainy however I soon adjusted to this look because it added effect to what I was trying to portray, it gave it a more old look which In fact im very pleased with because it works with what im trying to say through my photographs so in conclusion im very satisfied with my final photographs even if they weren't what I initially wanted.

I was ready to have a misfortunate event this day while awaiting the anticipation of developing my photographs onto wood slabs as well as the darkened images on my negative but nothing prepared me for the dwelling moment that the liquid emulsion had yet failed (again) - no matter what I had tried or did, the photographs did not appear but other than go completely black, the only conclusion was the liquid emulsion had been tampered with or my pre-coated wood slabs had been exposed to light however even though my attempts had failed, I did not let this discouragement get to me on the other hand I had decided to just use photographic paper for my final outcome instead because it was the only option I had left.

While I had noticed that my negatives were incredibly dark within the film I could still see my images ever so slightly, this did not make me doubt the possibility of developing them further however I knew it would be a long and awaiting process, especially with having to produce 6 images within a day - the exposure of my photographs would have to be a maximum of 4 or less minutes per photographs, as well as producing test strips to get the right exposure to exact - the gradient of my images were all the same ( 3 - 1/2 ) this produces a darkened image however with a lot of detail still prominent, especially around my grandfathers facial features and hands.

After carefully producing my photographs and being within the darkroom for 3 hours, I had finally produced 4 clear and focused photographs - the images came out grained even though its not exactly how I imagined my photographs to look it did add effect to the photographs making them more older and less modern, it shows the past of what my grandfather used to do constantly, so I'm pleased with the outcome of them however I was only able to produce four photographs for my project instead of six due to the long exposure time and the closure of the darkroom however I believe that I had worked incredibly hard to be able to produce the photographs, as well as having to re-shoot, and all the the failures of printing onto metal and wood, nothing seemed to have gone in my favour but I carried on because you should never give up.

I came back to college a day early so I had time to develop my film before the following day, it was to make sure I wasn't in any rush - I did the typically steps of developing a film, developer, fix and stop - and then wash, it is a long process but worth it when the film comes out and all your photographs are perfectly exposed however after washing my film and unravelling it from the container I noticed how dark each photograph was compared to my last negatives, I didn't understand what went so wrong, I had everything I knew about correct (well thats what I thought) anyways I left my negatives to dry over the night and continue my project the following day.
