Photography Composition - Line

Take three photographs which shows a line towards a focusing point and write a sentence explaining your thoughts on it.

In this photograph the leading line is the width of the church because it directly leads the eyes towards the top of the spire - especially because around the spire its a much lighter colour whereas the church itself is a lot less exposed, making it stand out a lot more.

In this photograph which I have taken the leading line is the two buildings either side and the pathway with the distinctive slabs because they become narrow towards the old couple in the distance and this leads the eyes to that focus point and because around the couple its a lot lighter and then behind them its darker it brings your to that focus point directly,

In this photograph the focus point is the building in the distance and the leading lines towards this is the car and also the road lines on the ground, in this photograph it also has the contrast between light in the distance and darker behind, this leads you towards the specific focal point.

Photography Composition - Shape

Take three photographs which shows shape and write a sentence explaining your thoughts on it.

In this photograph the shapes are the flowers because of how the petals are formed and how close to each other they are it doesn't seem to represent two flowers however it

In this photograph the shapes are within the sand marks which was created by a tractor, you wouldn't initially see it as that because its just focused on the sand rather than the background and the sand so you don't understand what it is at first sight.

In this photograph the shapes are within the water which is reflected by the ducks shadow, at first glance you wouldn't initially recognise it as the ducks shadow however the more you stare at the photo the more prominent the shape becomes.

Photography Composition - Negative Space

Take three photographs which shows negative space and write a sentence explaining your thoughts on it.

In this photograph the negative space is the background i.e the sky, it enables you to focus on the surroundings and identify the shapes more sufficiently as well as emphasising the pathway/wall.

In this photograph the negative space is prominent because the only focus point of this imagery is the curvature of the structure, it produces a more relaxing and uncluttered composition.

This particular photograph has a great negative space because the sky and the water both collide with each other causing your eyes to convert towards the centre of the photograph and leaves the shapes of the photograph more prominent within it.

Photography composition - Rule Of Thirds.

Take three photographs which shows the Rule Of Thirds and write a sentence explaining what your thought are on it.

In this photograph the Rule Of Thirds can be seen with the wheat on the field on the right side of the photograph, it is the most important part of the photograph because it is a leading line as well as the negative space surrounding it as well

In this photograph the Rule Of Thirds is the model which I used, he is the centre of the piece and because of the way the fields are alined it leads your eyes towards the male model and the negative space of the sky impacts the focus of the model significantly.

in this photograph it is very similar towards the first photograph however the Rule Of Thirds has been used within this photograph because the important part of the image is the path which is off-centred, it also has the leading lines of the skyline as well as negative space.

Photography composition - Minimalist composition.

Take three photographs showing minimalist composition and write a sentence about your thoughts on them.

In this photograph I believe this is minimalist composition because it has a very simplistic style towards it and its able to tell a story, in this photograph it also has the negative space so you are mainly focusing on the wheat, it shows a lot of detail on the wheat the way the sun was hitting the branches.

In this photograph it also shows minimalist composition because it also has a very simplistic style towards it, it doesn't exactly foretell a story however it has the comparison of the dragon fly up against the grey/white background which brings out the detail of the dragon fly itself, showing a very creative and indulgent photograph even though its just a picture of a flying insect.

In this photograph it shows minimalist composition because of how the photograph could be interpreted, I believe this photo is a simplistic and satisfying photograph and I feel theres a story you could attach to this type of imagery, this photograph also has the essence of negative space which emphasises the photograph.

Photography composition - Out of the box

Take three photographs which is outside your comfort zone and write a sentence about each photo explaining your thoughts.

The reason why this photograph which I took in the studio is outside my comfort zone because its something I've never really done before and because lighting has to be perfect otherwise it just doesn't go right, studio photography isn't easy but once you get the hang of it it can be and the more I get to use it the more I realise I can do a wide range of different things.

The reason this photograph is out of my comfort zone is because I've never really took any photographs of water which has a lot of surroundings, you have to make sure you find the right position otherwise a glare can happen and just ruin the photograph as a whole or the sun can reflect into the water or straight onto the camera.

This photograph is not in my comfort zone because I don't usually take photographs of streets or buildings so it was something I never thought id like however with the right editing you can make loads of connoations surrounding the image and its something I might develop further into.

Photography Composition - Face Expressions

Take three photographs which show facial expression and then write a sentence on your thoughts about them.

In this photograph the emotion which you can see on her face is peace, she gives a sense of relaxation and she's calm, the reason you can see this is by how her muscles in her face are relaxed and her eyes are close so you interpret it as if she is thinking about life.

In this photograph she gives a sense of disgust or annoyance as if someone has done something and she feels worried about it or someone has said something to her to which she doesn't agree with, her facial expressions really show how concerned she looks.

In this photograph you can see by her facial expression of how joyous she looks, she is smiling so you can sense she is happy, it gives a representation that she has just achieved something or she's won a prize by her facial reaction.

Photography Composition - Action shot

Take three photographs which shows action and explain your thoughts on it by writing a sentence next to each image.

This photograph is an action shot because the wood worker was chopping wood during the time of me photographing this, parts around him are lightly off blurred whereas the worker and the wood aren't, it shows the man was moving the wood to be chopped in half.

The squirrel was moving across the fence while I was taking a photograph of him, the background is blurred and the fence is slightly off focus leaving the squirrel as the main focused area showing that he was attempting to run across the fence.

The background is excessively off focus because of how the cat was coming towards me, this shows the cat was moving because the cat itself is still in focus whereas its surrounding aren't.

Photography Composition - detailed shot

Take three photographs which shows a close up/detailed shot and explain it by writing a sentence next to each photograph.

This photograph is a close up of a red/pinkish rose, its a common shot to take but I thought it was intriguing because you can see the roots of the plant going up the side of the petals.

In this photograph it is a close up off an old decaying park, which got destroyed, its something ive never seen before and I think its unique because the park got taken down not long after I took this photograph, it doesn't look like its part of a park at first glance.

This photograph is a close up off a log which has been rotting, it wouldn't look like it is from this photograph because of the distortion of the colours, I like the different textures which can be seen within this photograph as well.

Photography Composition - Panning

Take three photographs which shows panning i.e motion blur and explain it by writing a sentence next to each photographs.

In this photograph, it was first attempt at motion blur and decided to use two of my friends within the frame, I'm very pleased with the outcome of my photograph however I feel as if I could have improved the image by making the models more clearer.

This photograph is the one I am most pleased with due to the fact I was able to get a faster moving obstruction to have a motion blur, I believe this was my third attempt at this process and happy with my outcome.

This photograph does show some motion blur however its not the best out of all three which I have taken, I feel as if the model wasn't moving at a quick enough pace to be able to get the motion blur I desired.

Photography Composition - Shooting in the rain

Take three photographs that shows shooting in the rain and explain your thoughts on them

During my shoot of this photograph it was a very quick decision however im very satisfied with the outcome of my photograph and feel as if I captured "shooting in the rain" distinctively due to the water effect on the flooring as well as the umbrellas in the distance.

This photograph is very simplistic however I was able to capture this while looking through a window of a car and zooming in on a specific area, I believe I captured the rain particles superbly.

This is my favourite photograph out off all three, I believe the contrast of the red, brings out the rain specs and emphasis them, I was able to photograph a telephone box just as the rain was starting to settle and I'm very pleased with the outcome of this photograph.

Photography Composition - Multiple Exposure

Take three photographs that shows multiple exposure using a Nikon camera and explain your thoughts

Multiple Exposure on a Nikon camera is a very complicated process as well as having to have the right lighting and composition within the two photographs you take, I do like this process however its not something I would use again and I feel as If I have achieved a decent photograph within this image, both images which are within this photograph definitely create a good combination with each other.

Within this photograph I feel as If I was able to get a more idealistic photograph due to the fact the lighting was very similar and that the photographs I have taken work significantly with each other.

This photograph also went surprisingly well, the reason why I believe this is because they were in similar environments and had the exact lighting so the two photographs I took here worked well with each other perfectly, creating a nice contrast between the two.
